What should I do to treat my hard water problem? In our opinion, the most comprehensive, environmentaly friendly and least expensive solution would be to install a set of magnetic water conditioners and a water filtration device. We offer magnetic treatment sets for homes and businesses that are very competitively priced.
These can be placed on PVC (plastic of all kinds) and copper water lines. Galvanized pipe reduces the magnetic field and it is not recommended, however, you can replace a 2ft section of the galvanized pipe with either PVC or copper and place the units on that section. What is hard water?
Test have shown that the effects of magnetic water treatment begin to diminish around 48 hours after the water has passed through the magnetic field. Under normal conditions this is more than enough time for the water to travel from the house inlet to your drains. The 2 exceptions to this are the hot water tanks and ice makers. Hot Water Tanks Water is stored and heated in your tank. Time and heat both can reduce the magnetic effect on water. We always recommend a unit be placed on the output line to re-magnetize the water leaving the tank. Ice Makers The water volume through ice makers is very low and because of that, it could take several days for the water to travel from where it enters your home to your ice maker. We recommend you place an ice maker unit on the small water line behind the fridge to re-magnetize the water. With Magnets 2+2 Does Not = 4 If you put six 1,000 gauss magnets together, you do not get 6,000 gauss. You get 1,000 gauss with more pulling power. In fact, when the surface of a magnet is measured with a gauss meter, it always measures quite a bit less than the magnet is rated.
